German chocolate cake mix baked in the Nordic Ware beehive pan I got for Christmas. I should have made two boxes of cake mix because the pan didn’t fill all the way up. I’m actually thinking that 1.5 boxes of mix would be spot on. I baked it according to the bunt pan directions and it came out just right.
I skied out to my hive today. Its not supper far back from the driveway but walking though snow that is knee high or deeper is not fun, and I already had the skis out from earlier in the day.
I knocked the snow off the top. I didn’t see any bees or dead bees out front so I knocked on the side and heard them buzz. So they are still alive. I’ve got my fingers crossed that they’ll make it to spring.
The snow keeps on coming down here. Its almost up to the entrances on my beehive! I think I need snow shoes to get out there for a closer look.
I’ve been baking bread. I find it to be very therapeutic to get my hands on some dough and make something delicious with it. Today I made The Easiest Loaf of Bread You’ll Ever Make. Then I took some rosemary from the plant we have inside and put it in a little dish. Then I smashed a clove of garlic and added that to the dish along with some crushed red pepper and added some olive oil. The first loaf bread disappeared pretty fast. Plus I got my dad off of butter for the evening.
